C’nardally Waytes

Cornetto and Sackbut Ensemble

Founded in the summer of 2009, cornetto and sackbut players explore repertoire from the 17th century in original notation by composers such as Andrea Gabrieli and Thomas Weelkes. Historical temperament, articulation and phrasing techniques are typical discussion items, as well as understanding vocal concepts that apply to historical brass playing.

The ensemble meets weekly according to a schedule that best meets members’ needs. Coached by Kris Kwapis, early brass specialist, C’nardally Waytes made their debut performance at the Seattle Recorder Society Members’ Night, Spring 2010.
