| The Early Music Guild sponsors a variety of education activities. Ranging
from sponsoring residencies of local and touring artists in public elementary
schools, to pre-concert lectures, summer workshops, and scholarships for adults,
the EMG supports educational opportunities for all ages and interests. The Early Music Guild also sponsors scholarships to the Northwest Center for
Early Music Studies, which is a Professional Affiliate of the EMG.

Pre-concert lectures are given before each International
Series concert. They begin one
hour before the concert begins, at the location of that evening's concert.
Pre-concert lectures are open to all ticket holders for that performance.
The Northwest Center for Early
Music Studies (NWCEMS) offers a variety of classes, ensembles, and workshops
for people interested in Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music. NWCEMS is a
branch of the Early Music Guild, which also provides a limited number of tuition
scholarships.

Early music makes an excellent focus for educational explorations. It is a
window on history, a living link to the cultures of the past.
As a service to the educational community, the Early Music Guild offers a
variety of programs -- from 30-minute presentations to two-week residencies --
appropriate for ages ranging from elementary school through community college.
Most programs can be tailored to a particular age level. Costs varies with the
specific program and the grants available to support it. Range is from $50 to
$2000 (for a 2-week residency). The Early Music Guild pays one-half of the
cost of most of these programs. For more information about available
school programs, call the Early Music Guild at (206) 325-7066.
