About the Early Music Guild's School Programs
Why Early Music?
Early music provides a window on history, a living link to the cultures of
the past. Early music presentations can tie in with curricula on visual or
performing arts, history, science, math, language, and literature.
About the Early Music Guild School Programs
The Early Music Guild places programs in schools as curriculum enrichment.
The EMG puts you in contact with the artists, and, when possible, pays half of
the artists' fees. The artists have been carefully selected by the Early Music
Guild, and offer superb artistic abilities as well as excellent rapport with the
students.
Most of the programs are available for either a classroom program or as an
assembly.
Mini-Residencies
Any of our programs can have an even bigger impact on the students if they
are combined with others. If you schedule two or more different programs during
the school year, we may cover a larger percentage of the fees. Let us work with
you to select and design programs that will enhance your curriculum. Availability
limited. Call for more information.
Flexibility
The programs listed are flexible; often an artist or group will tailor a
program to fit a particular curriculum or schedule. If you have a specific
idea in mind, and don't see it here, call us and ask -- we might be able to
arrange it for you!
Age Level
The Early Music Guild offers projects that are suitable for a variety of age
groups. Most programs can be tailored to a particular age level.
Length of Programs
The length of program varies from a one-time 45-minute presentation to a
two-week residency. Length of programs can be adjusted to fit a particular age
group or situation.
Cost
The cost varies with the specific program and the grants available to support
it. The range is from $80 to $2000 (the cost of a two-week
residency). The Early Music Guild pays one-half of the cost of most of
these programs. The prices given in this brochure are base prices
only, and may vary depending on various factors, including length of program,
and location of school.
