Considered
a Norwegian cultural
treasure, the medieval drama Draumkvedet recounts a dream
journey through Heaven and Hell traveled by Olav Åsteson, as he sleeps
for 13 days from Christmas Eve until Epiphany. Powerful text, hauntingly
beautiful music, and an evocative setting draw the audience into a realm
beyond time and place. With Beth Kollé, harp/vocals; Richard Hill,
vocals; Bill Boyd, Hardingfele (Norwegian Hardanger fiddle); Bart
Brashers, nyckelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle); Joanne Andrus,
hurdy-gurdy; Nancy Quensé, narration and artistic direction.
$25
/ $20 / $10.
