Join this unique ensemble for an exploration of the affinity between medieval French melodies and the living folk music traditions of Provence and Auvergne. On matched vielles, Ruthie Dornfeld and Shulamit Kleinerman perform in the troubadour tradition, bringing medieval harmonies to life with spontaneous folk-inflected improvisations. Traditional singer and percussionist Ruth Hunter brings a fresh, earthy sound to medieval and traditional tunes alike. When this ensemble sets the rigaudons and bourrees of the folk tradition side by side with the estampies and trouvere songs of the Middle Ages, neither repertoire remains the same!

$25 / $20 / $10.
