Winner of the 2006 Early Music America Medieval/Renaissance Competition, Montreal-based Ensemble La Rota is redefining Medieval instrumental and vocal performance.  The ensemble makes their Seattle debut with Sarah Barnes, soprano; Tobie Miller, recorder, hurdy-gurdy; Emilie Brule, vielle; and Esteban LaRotta, lute, harp. Since its inception in 2002, the group has met with praise for its rich sound, instrumental virtuosity, and mastery of Medieval improvisation.
