Jordi Savall and his famed ensemble Hesperion
XXI return to Seattle with Lux Feminae, an homage to the women in
Medieval and Renaissance song and instrumental music. It is an
invocation to femininity as the key to the spiritual world, as told
through seven contrasting musical moods depicting mysticism, sensuality,
motherhood, love, grief, rejoicing, and wisdom. Jordi Savall leads an
ensemble of eight, including voices, harp, oud, cithara, psaltry,
flutes, rebab, lira d'arco, and percussion.
