The American Dream recreates the musical life of Boston’s early days, featuring a wide variety of music that would have been played and sung in churches, theaters, private homes, and the newly founded private concert halls. Soprano Shannon Mercer joins Seattle Baroque Orchestra and Guest Director Matthias Maute for this patriotic performance.
Matthias Maute has an impressive international reputation as a composer, conductor, and one of the great recorder and Baroque flute virtuosos of his generation. Widely esteemed for his artistic direction of Ensemble Caprice, Mr. Maute has recorded more than 20 albums, and regularly performs as a featured soloist at major festivals worldwide.
